Independent app 01

See the light across the whole frame.

A fast, film-oriented iPhone meter with a live numeric exposure map, practical long-exposure tools and reports that preserve how you measured the scene.

Ruta Meter showing its live 70-area exposure map
Works as a complete light meter on its own.

Made for film

Fast when measuring. Deep when needed.

The main meter stays uncluttered, while film range, reciprocity, ND compensation, calibration and the roll counter remain close at hand.

Exposure maps

Start with a clear scene overview or use the denser Pro maps to inspect local differences across the frame.

Film-aware readings

Work with film stocks, box ISO and your chosen metering EI without treating the iPhone like a digital camera menu.

Long exposures

Calculate ND-adjusted and film-specific reciprocity-corrected times, then use the built-in timer.

Meter reports

Save the image with its exposure data, optional GPS and your yellow field annotations for later reference.

Optional connection to app 02

Use Ruta Meter alone.
Connect Ruta Foto when useful.

Ruta Foto is not required. If you install both apps, they can save the technical exposure record beside the location and idea you want to remember.

1

Save

Ruta Meter creates a visual report with film, EI, aperture, shutter, EV, long-exposure details and optional GPS.

2

Approve

Enable Offer Ruta Foto after saving and choose Add to Ruta Foto when you want to make a connected card.

3

Build context

Ruta Foto receives a separate copy that can live with your location, field notes and plans for a return visit.

The Ruta Foto connection is included with Ruta Meter Free. Free can transfer its daily saved report; Pro adds unlimited saved reports and transfers. Film Roll Counter users can also link a roll so each eligible Shot waits locally for Ruta Foto without taking them away from the meter.
