Using Ruta Meter with Ruta Foto
The apps do not require one another, but they can share a photographic record when both are installed.
Save and approve
Save a meter photo, then choose Add to Ruta Foto. The original remains safely in Photos.
Receive the card
Ruta Foto opens and creates a separate card with the image and available exposure and location details.
This local connection is available in Ruta Meter Free. Free can transfer its daily saved report; Pro adds unlimited saved reports and transfers. For the Film Roll Counter, enable Link each Shot to Ruta Foto. Eligible Shots are queued locally and imported the next time Ruta Foto opens. This is not cloud synchronisation.
Camera is unavailable
Open iPhone Settings, find Ruta Meter, and allow Camera access. The physical iPhone camera is required for native exposure readings.
A GPS report will not save
GPS is optional. Turn off Save GPS in Meter Settings to save without location, or allow Location While Using the App in iPhone Settings.
A report is missing from Photos
Allow Ruta Meter to add photos in iPhone Settings. Ruta Meter only needs add access; it does not need to browse your entire photo library.
Restore Ruta Meter Pro
Open Meter Settings, choose Compare Free and Pro, then Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
Readings differ from another meter
Compare the same evenly lit target, lens and metering area. Pro calibration can store a small offset for a trusted reference meter.
Ruta Foto did not receive a report
Confirm both apps are installed and Offer Ruta Foto after saving is enabled. Open Ruta Foto once to collect any locally queued Film Roll Shots. The report still remains in Photos if transfer is unavailable.
