Camera and exposure readings
Ruta Meter needs camera access to display the live scene and calculate exposure values. Camera frames and exposure metadata are processed on the device. Live frames are not uploaded to the developer.
Location and Sun Path
Location access is optional. When enabled, Ruta Meter can align the Sun Path and embed a coordinate in a meter report that you choose to save. Turning GPS off keeps normal metering available. Location is not sent to the developer.
Photos, drawings and meter reports
When you save a meter report, Ruta Meter writes the rendered image and selected exposure information to your Photos library. Handwritten annotations are rendered into that report. Apple Photos controls the saved asset and its permissions.
Optional Foto Ruta transfer
If you enable the Foto Ruta connection, Ruta Meter can place a copy of a saved report and its exposure metadata in an Apple App Group shared only by Ruta Meter and Foto Ruta from the same developer. This is an on-device transfer. It is disabled by default and does not send the report to the developer.
Ruta Meter Pro purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Ruta Meter receives the verified entitlement needed to unlock Pro, but the developer does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple's own privacy terms apply to App Store transactions.
External reference links
Some film information includes a link to a manufacturer's technical document. Opening a link leaves Ruta Meter and may allow that website to receive ordinary connection information under its own privacy policy.
Storage, retention and deletion
Settings, film choices, calibration profiles and roll counters are stored locally on your device. Saved reports remain in Photos until you delete them. You can remove local app data by deleting the app; Photos items must be deleted from Photos separately. Foto Ruta manages reports that it has already imported.
Changes to this policy
If Ruta Meter later introduces a service that changes how data is handled, this policy and the App Store privacy declaration will be updated before that change is released.
